Who Are Shadow Hunters NI
Founded in Belfast in 2014, Shadow Hunters NI began with a simple idea: explore the paranormal with open minds and honest methods. We use time-tested techniques alongside modern technology to record whatever a location offers, from the quiet and subtle to the clear and unmistakable.
When you join an investigation you work with us. We explain the tools and the plan, then run through experiments together. You see the results as they happen and decide what they mean. Believers and sceptics are both welcome. Curiosity is enough.
In 2020 we registered our business under the Research and experimental development on social sciences and humanities sector. This keeps our approach grounded with careful methods and clear reporting.
We also take on private cases for homes, venues and businesses across Northern Ireland. Every visit is discreet and respectful. We document our findings and provide clear, practical next steps.
What Happens At Our Events?
Arrival and welcome.
You are greeted by the team and given a short introduction to the venue and the plan for the night. Safety and respect for the location come first.
How the night runs.
Most events use four or five areas inside the building. Each area hosts a different experiment. Depending on numbers, we move together as one group or split into smaller teams and rotate so everyone experiences each space.
Experiments.
Across the night you may take part in EVP sessions, Estes or spirit-box sessions, pendulum and board work, scrying, glasswork, K2 and tripwire sessions, and our total darkness experiment. We explain what each method is for and how to use the equipment before we begin.
Your investigation.
This is your investigation. Ask questions, try the equipment, and take part. You have paid to be here, so make the most of every area. We are beside you, but we do not want you to watch from the sidelines.
Mindset helps activity.
Come with an open mind. In our experience, participation and curiosity help the spirits to respond and help the activity to build.
Timing, breaks, and refreshments.
Our two-hour events run straight through with no break. Longer events include a short refreshment stop with a light supper, tea, and coffee. Sandwiches are typical.
Debrief.
At the end we gather to review highlights and discuss anything that stood out. Many first-timers leave with a new respect for the paranormal. Some guests have had a strong experience and later joined the team.
Dates and seasons.
We run events throughout the year and add extra dates in October and November. Halloween is our busiest period, so early booking is recommended.
Who can attend.
Public events are for adults aged 18 and over. Mediumship events are 16+. Please tell us about any access needs in advance so we can plan to help.

How do i join the team?
Shadow Hunters NI is currently welcoming new members to join our investigation team.

Essential Criteria:

Aged 18 or over

Able to commit to a minimum of two evenings per week (typically Tuesday and Thursday)
Desirable (But Not Required):

Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Background in video production and access to your own equipment

Background in audio production and access to your own equipment

Are The Events Safe?
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. Our team ensures that each location is thoroughly inspected and carefully prepared before all events. Participants must be 18 years or older.
